Getting there, and away
By Air
The best way to get to Lausanne from most parts of Europe is by Geneva International Airport. There are direct train links from Geneva Airport to Lausanne with a journey time of approximately 45 minutes (there is a train every 20 minutes). Other possible airports are:
- Zurich International Airport. The train journey to Lausanne takes approximately 3 hours (there is a train every hour)
- Basel Airport. There is a bus that connects Basel's airport to Basel's main station in 20 minutes; the train from Basel's main station takes about two and a half hours to arrive in Lausanne (there are 2 trains every hour).
There are many cheap airlines flying to the Geneva Airport from a large number of important European cities. Here is an incomplete list:
